Location

Lazy Black Bear ~ Paoli, Indiana
Private property of Linda Lee and Andy Mahler, Lazy Black Bear is a magical retreat at the end of a dead end road in the middle of the Hoosier National Forest in Paoli, IN.  The farmstead has been the host for many Permaculture and Heartwood activist gatherings, and a center of earth-based living for close to 30 years.

Accommodations

Tent Camping & Rustic Off-Grid RVs & Cabins on the Lazy Black Bear Property.
Available shelters:
8 Off-grid rustic cabins with 2-4 Bunks with mattress pad in each cabin
(The cabins have windows, but no screens, and so can be stuffy.
A battery-powered fan is a good idea if you sleep in a cabin.)

3 RV Campers with 1-3 beds each
(The campers are VERY VERY musty and some have found them intolerable.  Others thought it was okay.  Depends on your tolerance, but if you are sensitive to moldy/musty smells, camping or other accommodations will suit you better.)

3 VW Vanagons with 1 bed each
(These are very small, intimate.  They are old vehicles and some windows may open, but they may not.
There may or may not be screens in the windows.)

Lots of room for camping

Everything at this property is VERY PRIMITIVE.
We are in the middle of thousands of acres of woods.
There are ONLY OUTHOUSES for bathrooms.  And there is no electricity in the outhouses and showers.
There is NO running water or electricity in cabins/RVs/vanogons.
The showers are gravity fed and heated with solar power.

We will eat our meals in a large outdoor covered dining hall that DOES have electricity and running water.

This event is rain or shine.  There are areas for us to do some workshops under roof coverage in the case of rain, otherwise we will be holding workshops outside, in the grass, under the open sky!
