Workshop: Shake Your Girly Parts with Zumba!
A really FUN Zumba workout! No experience necessary
Once you arrive, you will be greeted with a friendly smile from yours truly.
We will begin with a simple song/routine that promises to make you smile. In fact, I’ve made up a playlist that will be especially fun for beginners. I will show you some ways to make the movements low impact, if needed.
After we move to songs that will warm up our muscles, we will go on to some songs that will really get our hearts pumping. If you haven’t exercised in a blue moon, there are ways to keep your heart rate lower while still moving. Then we will gradually slow down our workout by doing some slower songs. We will then do a lovely stretch to calming music that will make you feel relaxed and fabulous. After class, I will give each participant a 10% coupon for Lost River Market & Deli.

Workshop: Sacred Dance Circle
Deepen into the truth and beauty of who you are as we circle together and hold sacred, loving space for, and with, one another. Drawing from the ancient art of bellydance, freestyle movement, breath and imagery, we touch into sacred center and find home there. Rejoicing in our bodies just as they are, without any need to change, we find joy and freedom~in the moment~of the movement~together. Surrendering to the moment and to the sensuality, holiness, and wholeness of being fully present with our bodies and ourselves, we soften, heal, and deepen into our true nature. No previous dance experience required. We are all dancers! Dancing is simply breathing and moving through space. You are perfect. Just as you are.
Laci Tucker (Samira) | French Lick, IN
Middle Eastern Dance (Belly Dancing) & Reiki Practitioner
Bio: Samira is a bellydance instructor, performer, and troupe director of The Turkish Delights and Flame in the Valley. She started bellydancing in 2006 for fitness and fun, but instead gained empowerment for the body she was born with and the amazing things she could train it to do. She has studied the many styles of the regions - from the elegant and lovely Egyptian Cabaret, to the rambunctious romani style, all the way to the dramatic American tribal fusion, even side show acts featuring swords, flames, and serpents.
Workshop: Roma oh la la
Learn the life and dance of the Romani culture, sometimes referred to by their racial slur "gypsy". Discover how these travelers used dance to tell their unwritten stories along their journey. I will demonstrate the differences between this style and other forms of bellydance, the fiesty footwork, and the hand gestures born from Indian culture. In the end, you will understand how to count the 9/8 Karsilama rhythm and how to improv it into the dance of your own story.
