Interested in Offering a movement session? This event is organized so that there will be multiple movement sessions happening simultaneously, and each session will be held by a different woman who has interest in teaching or offering something during the weekend. You do not need to be certified to teach or teaching regularly to offer a session. This is open to anyone who wants to share their knowledge about a particular movement art with others.
Once we have all of the submissions, we will schedule them based on type of movement and level of difficulty so that we have options for all levels happening at the same time. Teachers/facilitators will not be paid, rather they will be offering something that they feel passionate about to the group. Teachers are also considered full participants, therefore all teachers will still be expected to pay the fee for the weekend. If you need to request a scholarship or an alternative arrangement in exchange for your teaching, please fill out a scholarship form or contact Kara at firstname.lastname@example.org.
And we hope it goes without saying, but all instructors must make sure that they do everything they can to uphold an environment of physical safety during their session.
If we get more submissions than we can accommodate, your workshop idea may not be chosen this year. But we will do our best to give everyone who wants to, a chance to offer something during the weekend. Those who are staying at Lazy Black Bear for the entire weekend will get priority. We know it won't work for everyone who is teaching to stay for the entire weekend, but we strongly encourage it. The intention of this weekend is to build trust, support and community between women, and if people are coming and going a lot, or just coming to teach and then leaving, it will make it more challenging for the weekend to feel cohesive for those participating.
